I seriously hadn’t been worrying about the puffiness under my eyes for just a year or two. It got worse when I was tired, and no matter how much concealer I applied, shadows would show under lighting. When taking selfies, I always started by editing my under-eyes first, and I felt so pathetic ㅠㅠ I was tired of always smoothing out my under-eyes with photo-editing apps, so I finally decided to get surgery. I’m the biggest scaredy-cat in the world, so I researched a ton. I looked for somewhere that would hurt as little as possible and absolutely wouldn’t leave scars. I had my consultation and surgery at a clinic, and it’s honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. During the consultation, they first told me that under-eye fat repositioning can descend again over time. You know most places don’t usually say that, right? There are tons of places where business comes first and they try to take your money however they can. But here, they told me that upfront, so I was actually the one who got flustered ㅋㅋㅋㅋ And there was a reason they were confident ㅋㅎㅋㅎ They said they fix it with thicker sutures than other places to really lower the recurrence rate... Honestly, I was really scared of surgery and debated a lot, but after hearing the explanation, I felt reassured and booked it right away. If you ask what was the hardest part, it was no alcohol..? Other than that, there really wasn’t anything. I couldn’t drink for a month, so I skipped all my friends’ drinking plans and was the only one sitting at cafés drinking smoothies ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I skipped company dinners and gatherings too, and since I was just chugging sparkling water by myself to match that schedule, it actually made me manage myself even more diligently. When I finally completed one month and had my first beer, that feeling of freedom was real?!?!? But I was drinking while looking in the mirror, and seeing my face drinking with smooth under-eyes felt so unfamiliar. Once the under-eye puffiness completely disappeared, my whole face looked kind of more refined? My makeup time got shorter, and the fact that I don’t have to edit photos when I take them is enough for me to be satisfied. Friends I met after a long time also said I got prettier, and the people around me are making an even bigger fuss. You’d think they were their own eyes ㅜㅜ Everyone keeps asking why my under-eyes look so clean and which clinic I went to, all together. I really think this is the taste of getting surgery.
