Hello. In January of this year, I had arm liposuction at a clinic in Gangnam that specializes in liposuction. I went to this clinic through a referral.
My arms were not extremely thick, but I wanted very slim arms, so I went there, and they said they would remove as much as possible. However, there is no major difference before and after the surgery.
The director said they also treated my accessory breast tissue as a complimentary service. I did not really have accessory breast tissue even before the surgery. I have received my before-and-after photos, so I can upload them.
On the day of surgery, my breasts went from a B cup to an E cup. So I asked the clinic whether breasts could become this enlarged after arm liposuction. They said it could happen because of swelling and IV fluids.
Then, after some time passed, I developed large bruises on the lower and side areas of both breasts. When I visited the clinic and asked whether bruising could also occur on the breasts, they again said it could happen.
Then, a few days ago, I felt breast pain. I thought it was premenstrual muscle pain and took anti-inflammatory painkillers, but the pain continued, so I went to a breast surgery clinic. As soon as they looked at the ultrasound, they said the implants had ruptured on both sides near the arms, and that they needed to be removed and the area washed out quickly. They told me to go to a plastic surgery clinic right away.
As soon as I heard that, I immediately thought of the arm liposuction clinic and called them. The arm clinic has been cooperative. They filed an insurance claim and agreed to support the replacement cost as well.
But I currently do not have any breast surgery scars in my armpits, and if they open that area again, I am upset about the armpit scars. I am also upset that the arm liposuction had no effect. On top of that, I suddenly have to take time off work, make time to go around for consultations at breast clinics, and I am now in a situation where I cannot work during my working hours.
In a case like this, aside from the revision surgery cost, how should I reach a settlement with the clinic? Right now, my breast shape, feel, scars, and everything else are natural, but if I have revision surgery, I am worried about scarring and that the feel and shape may not be the same as now. It is really stressing me out.
Has anyone else had a medical accident where their breast implants ruptured during arm liposuction? This happened so suddenly, and aside from the pain, I am just so flustered and annoyed...
