Review of cosmetic nose surgery (rhinitis + hump nose)

I finally had the surgery I kept putting off. I originally had rhinitis + a hump nose, so I was so stressed every time I took photos from the side. But I was so scared that getting rhinoplasty might cause side effects or that the surgery might fail, so 5 years ago I had a nonsurgical thread nose lift, but the side effects hit really hard and my nasal cartilage actually drooped lower.. So I lived for about 3 years? with severe appearance-related anxiety, and then I thought, I really can’t go on like this..! so I decided to have surgery with the money I had saved up. Fortunately, I had private indemnity insurance, so I wanted to do the rhinitis surgery at the same time. I looked for a place with an ENT specialist + where insurance processing was possible + no implant + as natural-looking as possible. I went around to about 4 places for consultations, but each had little things I was disappointed with, like the consultation or price, so while I was debating, I visited this hospital as my last stop. I went in feeling nervous, but first of all, the hospital was very clean and I liked that the director was so gentle. The staff were also on the kind side. And most of all, I really liked that the consultation manager didn’t pressure me. When I had the consultation with the director, they already used something like a tablet to quickly make a virtual version of my nose after surgery, and I liked it so much. I was also so tired of going around to hospitals (?) that I booked right away. I liked that the consultation manager actually asked me whether I was sure I didn’t need to think about it more. It was around Lunar New Year season, so reservations were packed, but luckily there was one evening slot left, so I quickly booked it and came back. For about a week, I kept wondering if I had done the right thing, and even right before going into the operating room, I was scared and nervous. I went into the operating room, and while they put on that anesthesia mask? the director asked if I still wasn’t asleep, so I answered, and I was worrying, what if the anesthesia doesn’t work? But after that, I woke up right away. Since it was an evening slot, I had fasted for 24 hours, so I was so hungry and thirsty that when I woke up, I think I just kept looking for water. I think I also felt more reassured because my friend watched the valley CCTV in real time for me. I thought the surgery was more manageable than expected, lay there for about 10 minutes? then went home, ate porridge, and lay down, but that was when the pain started. For about a week, I had cotton packing in my nose and had to breathe through my mouth at night. I honestly don’t know about anything else, but this was the most, most painful part. Since my nose was a very large hump-nose case, I guess because they did an osteotomy, I bled a lot. It didn’t stop easily, so I struggled quite a bit. Normally, I think nasal packing is removed the next day, but I went to have it removed and the bleeding wouldn’t stop, so they put it back in I think it may also have been worse because I had the surgery late in the evening, so if possible, I recommend morning surgery.. Anyway, because I kept breathing through my mouth, my throat hurt so much and I felt dizzy, so I visited the hospital in the middle of recovery, and after they suctioned out my nasal discharge, I felt like I could live a bit. For about 2 weeks after surgery, I couldn’t breathe through my nose and it was hard, so I seriously regretted it, thinking, what glory and luxury was I trying to enjoy by doing this.. But after 2 weeks, I became completely fine. Later, removing the packing and stitches really hurt less than I expected, and I truly felt like I could finally live. Maybe because I drank pumpkin tea for about a week and diligently applied the recovery cream the hospital gave me, the swelling also seems to have gone down well. One thing that was a bit disappointing was that I thought they would automatically prepare the insurance documents after the nose surgery, but I had to request them separately (there is a fee for issuing the documents). If anyone here is planning to claim private indemnity insurance, request them in advance before surgery.. Anyway, after getting my nose done, a stranger told me my nose was so pretty, and even my friends didn’t know until I told them. They were like, did you lose some weight? Did you get prettier? Then when I told them, they finally realized. It’s been about 2 months since surgery now, and it turned out so naturally and well that I’m really, really satisfied. I used to be so stressed about side-profile photos, but now I’m taking them so happily.. haha I wrote this all over the place, but I hope it helps even a little for everyone who is worried because of a hump nose + rhinitis!
