Since I was young, I really hated my broad, protruding lateral cheekbones and angular face, and my personal ideal look was also a slim face. I was always searching plastic surgery clinics and just worrying about it, then one day I made up my mind and went ahead and did it by myself despite my parents’ opposition lol I had cheekbone reduction and square jaw surgery at a facial contouring clinic, and it’s been over a year now lol After the surgery, my lateral cheekbones definitely went in, and my jawline is moderate. I asked for it to look natural rather than too dramatic, and the director did a good job leaving my jaw in just the right L-shape. At first I thought, “Ah, should I have had it shaved down more?” But after a year, as the remaining swelling went down and I lost more weight, I started thinking that if I had shaved off more than this, sagging might have come sooner and the balance of my face might have fallen apart. That was the moment I felt the director’s aesthetic sense was important. I think the hardest time was definitely right after surgery, before the stitches inside my mouth were removed. I couldn’t brush my teeth properly, I couldn’t open my mouth well, and I couldn’t eat what I wanted. But as the stitches were gradually removed, I ate things like meat, soft noodles, or liquid foods, and little by little I became able to eat tougher foods well too. I think before even a month had passed, I was pretty much just eating most things. I’m not originally the type to bruise or swell easily, so even when I had the bandage on my face, I didn’t particularly swell or bruise much. I guess it depends on the person! Part of me wonders if I should have done it earlier, but anyway, after doing it, I felt relieved inside. Of course, after I did it, I got scolded a lot by my parents... But it turned out naturally and well, so now they don’t really say anything lol I did worry about side effects, but I’m living well without any problems. Not long ago, I took a new passport photo, and when my mom’s friend saw it, she asked why I had lost so much weight. She doesn’t know I had my cheekbones and jaw done lol For now, people around me don’t seem to notice unless I tell them. I was already on the thinner side, but they think I went on a really strict diet. After surgery, I’ve been doing well without any particular problems. I can open my mouth well and yawn well too. Since the parts that bothered me every time I looked in the mirror are gone, I feel more at ease too. Anyway, it was a choice I don’t regret :)
