Review at 2 weeks after double-chin liposuction + muscle tightening. I had surgery on March 6 with Director Moon Hye-young at a plastic surgery clinic in Apgujeong. In my case, I had a double chin caused by my chin structure after double-jaw surgery, so I thought about it a lot before deciding on surgery, and so far my satisfaction is honestly quite high. In the photos, I can feel that the line itself has changed, so I think it was a good decision.
The pain was not as severe as I expected, and the major swelling felt like it went down a lot after about a week. The hardest part after surgery was wearing the compression bandage for two days. It felt heavy and made my neck hurt, so that was the most uncomfortable part. After getting past that, daily life was not a big problem. Thanks to that, I had surgery on Friday and was able to go to work on Monday wearing a mask.
Before surgery, I visited several clinics and really debated a lot about whether to do muscle tightening or not. When I listened to clinics that did not recommend it, their points also sounded reasonable, and since there was also the cost, I kept wondering until the day of surgery whether it might be excessive. But when I saw it directly on ultrasound, I was a case with more deep fat inside the muscle than superficial fat. So they said that simple liposuction alone would be less effective, and after actually hearing the explanation, it made sense to me.
As a result, I feel like it was such a good decision to do muscle tightening together. Since it was not just the superficial fat being cleaned up, but the deep fat was also thoroughly addressed, the line feels much cleaner, and my satisfaction is definitely higher. After trying it, I understand why there are cases where this is necessary. (Looking at other reviews, it seems the director also does not tell people who do not need it to do muscle tightening.)
Now that 2 weeks have passed, most of the swelling has gone down, but because of the biobond, the inside feels a bit firm and protruding. But the clinic is continuing to care for this as postoperative management, and they said they also provide treatment to loosen it while monitoring the progress, so I am not too worried. I am going in soon for biobond care, so for now I am trusting them and waiting. The postoperative care here is honestly very thorough, so I am highly satisfied with this part. It does not feel like they just do the surgery and end it there; they also pay attention to follow-up progress checks and care, so I feel reassured.
And one of the reasons I personally recommend this place is the scar. When doing muscle tightening, the incision area is closed with medical glue using the director’s own technique rather than sutures, so I feel like the scar is much smaller, and they keep managing this part too, so it feels less burdensome. (I previously saw someone who had sutures and then had the stitches removed, and I heard there are quite a few cases where the scar looks sunken? or becomes uneven.)
Overall, rather than feeling like overtreatment, it felt like they recommended what was necessary for my case, so I am more satisfied now. This review and the photos are based on the 2-week mark, but about a month has passed now, and I am scheduled to visit for 1-month biobond care, so I plan to write a follow-up review after the care.
