This is my 10-year review after getting fat grafting for a receding chin. First of all, having a receding chin had bothered me for a long time, so I looked up a lot of information. The most common options seemed to be silicone implants, genioplasty/chin advancement surgery, and chin filler. But the chin is an area that moves a lot, and I felt uneasy about putting silicone there, so I was reluctant about an implant. Chin advancement surgery also felt like too big of a surgery and with filler, I knew even more that it could spread. Then I saw that a receding chin could also be treated with fat grafting, so I ended up getting the procedure. I had it done twice. I was satisfied even after the first time, but during the engraftment process, a lot of the fat was absorbed, and it became uneven. So a few years later, I had a second fat graft. After the second round, the volume definitely lasted longer, and I’m still satisfied even now! Of course, there are still slightly uneven areas, but they become noticeable when I purse my lips, and normally it’s fine. But if your receding chin is very severe, or since the engraftment rate differs from person to person, I hope everyone thinks it over carefully and looks into it well.
