I don’t usually write things like this, but I got a lot of help from this community, so I’m writing a review in case it helps someone too. I had the 3-contour facial surgery + breast surgery together.
Day of surgery: As I was waking up from anesthesia and being moved to the recovery room, it hurt so much that I sobbed and begged them to save me, but they said crying would make it hurt more, so I held it in. As soon as I got there, I could barely talk, but I begged them to please give me the pain-control injection. After about 30 minutes, ha, it became somewhat bearable..? On the day of surgery, I was hospitalized for 1 day and had drains in, so they gave me New Care and water, but I had no appetite and didn’t really eat; I just drank a little water.
Post-op day 1: It was the day I was discharged, so they removed the drains. It didn’t hurt at all, not even the kind of pain where you go “ugh!” Then I was discharged, and in the taxi I was nervous every time it jolted because I was worried my chest would hurt. I didn’t swell as much as I expected, so even the doctor said during the checkup, “Why aren’t you swollen? You look pretty even though it’s only day 1.” (Probably just flattering me.) When I got home, since I’m not originally the type to have much facial fat, they saw me and said I looked cute.
Post-op day 2: From this point, I gradually started swelling, and an unbelievable situation happened. My lips swelled a lot, so I couldn’t talk, and my jaw and face started aching. Still, I iced/warmed it super diligently.
Post-op day 3: More swollen than yesterday. What is this? From this point, I started regretting it. I seriously wondered why I did this and put myself through this awful suffering, and I looked less pretty than before. I was thinking, what do I do? lol My lips swelled more, I could talk even less, and I couldn’t eat rice. I only drank New Care. But I started getting so sick of it. Also, when I slept, the swelling blocked my airway and I couldn’t breathe, so I woke up often.
Post-op day 4: F***, what is this? Even more swollen. I wondered if this even made sense. I really looked like Majolica, and even though I had been walking 40 minutes at a time since day 3, I wondered if it was having no effect. Reality hit me so hard. The pain was an aching jaw, and because my lips were so swollen, the intraoral incision area started throbbing and hurting. I absolutely couldn’t eat porridge and New Care anymore, so I broke up Cup Noodles into tiny pieces and ate it with a spoon. My mouth wouldn’t open well, and I couldn’t even lick my lips with my tongue. It was the same: I woke up while sleeping because I couldn’t breathe.
Post-op day 5: Huh? The swelling started going down a bit. Now I could slowly start seeing my own face. Before this, the swelling was so bad I was genuinely unrecognizable, and my face was at a level where I absolutely couldn’t go outside. But anyway, since daily life wasn’t possible and it was hard, I became really sensitive and got irritated more easily.
Post-op day 6: Oh, now I could clearly see it going down more and more. Daily life still wasn’t possible, but it was at least better than before. The pain in my jaw had also reduced a lot, and the biggest thing was just that the stitches inside my mouth felt sore and achy, maybe because they were being pressed by the swelling.
Post-op day 7: The long-awaited day to go get the first cheekbone stitches removed. I’m writing this on the way there, and yesterday was the first time I didn’t take Tylenol. The pain is mild, but the stitches inside my mouth still acheㅠㅠ It’s still completely impossible for me to walk around outside, and it just feels like, hmm, is this what it would feel like if I gained a ton of weight? Now I want to hurry to the hospital, take off the facial taping, and wash properly. I’m going crazy. The hardship and pain really become mild and bearable after about 5 days. For 5 days, you just have to throw away all your time..
Anyway, my mindset is that if I become prettier, I should be able to do this much, but it was a hard surgery. I regretted it from time to time too.. If you have anything you’re curious about, leave a comment. I’ll tell you everything I know. Then, good luck to everyone getting facial contouring ^^
