Hi everyone! I got so much help from this community before deciding on nose surgery, so I decided to leave a review too.
First of all, I’m in my 40s. Since I decided to have surgery at a later age, I prioritized safety and wanted a nose that looked natural but refined. Fortunately, I already had some nasal bridge height, so I was a suitable indication for surgery without an implant, and that’s what I proceeded with. Also, I had once been told at an ENT clinic that my nose was a bit deviated, so we checked it on the CT this time, and they said we should operate on that as well, so it suddenly turned into functional nose surgery? About having surgery at 40, Director Hyun said it was definitely not late, and that I was even on the younger side. He also showed me nose surgery photos of older patients in their 50s, 60s, and even 80s. I was so grateful… maybe even more so because my self-esteem had dropped a lot from the clinic I had visited before. Honestly, I was looking for a clinic that could do a natural-looking result without an implant, so I only visited exactly two clinics, and because Director Hyun seemed so trustworthy, I decided on this clinic right away.
On the morning of surgery, I started having a reality check, wondering whether it was really right for me to be having surgery. Maybe the director could sense my fear too, because he reassured me before the surgery. Anesthesia started and I quickly fell asleep, and when I opened my eyes, the surgery was already over. I was a little dizzy, but I kept trying to walk because walking helps with faster recovery. What I was most afraid of before surgery was that I had seen so many people say it was really hard while gauze was packed inside the nose. I also saw many posts saying they felt like they might panic because they couldn’t breathe, so I worried a lot. But Director Hyun said he removes the gauze the very next day after nose surgery, so I only had to endure it for one day, and that also made me feel much more at ease. But right after surgery, my nose didn’t hurt at all. Of course, it was partly because the anesthesia hadn’t fully worn off, but even after I woke up from anesthesia, there wasn’t major pain. Even the nasal cotton wasn’t very uncomfortable. In nose surgery vlogs and such, I saw so many people whose gauze was soaked with blood, or who said the nasal gauze was so hard that they could never have surgery again… but I was totally fine! From the time I got home, the nasal gauze seemed to get bigger as it became wet, so there was some discomfort, but it was tolerable enough that I even thought, “At this level, I could maybe have surgery one more time?” When sleeping, I had to breathe only through my mouth, so I woke up every hour or two, but I fell back asleep quickly, so the next day was manageable too. I went to the clinic to have the nasal gauze removed, and removing the gauze didn’t hurt at all. I wondered if this was the director’s skill. But he said there was a little bleeding from the osteotomy site and seemed worried, saying there shouldn’t be bleeding. Fortunately, there was no more bleeding after that. I suspect that blood may have been mixed with my runny nose, since I had an unusually runny nose yesterday. Now I’m back home, with no pain at all, the gauze removed, breathing well, eating very well, and doing fine.
That’s my progress up to day 2 after surgery. My face is a bit swollen, and because my eyes are pulled slightly, it even gives the effect of having had double eyelid surgery, which I really like. It’ll go back once the swelling goes down, though!
I think Director Hyun’s surgical skill can be trusted. Director Hyun also seemed quite confident in surgery, and that gives patients such a huge sense of stability and comfort! Some people say they filter out anyone who isn’t a board-certified plastic surgeon, but I actively recommend Director Hyun. As long as the nose image you’re pursuing matches, that is. I also like that he only performs three surgeries a day! I hope my post helps everyone too. If I get the chance later, I’ll try uploading before-and-after photos as well.
