Ever since high school, I was seriously obsessed and distressed about my chest, so I was determined that I would absolutely get it done as soon as I became an adult. I was tired of putting padding in every time I got dressed, and only people who have been through it know how much your self-esteem drops every time you compare yourself with friends... So as soon as my birthday passed, I convinced my parents and immediately went around for consultations.
I thought just going big no matter what was the answer, but once I actually went for consultations, they said they had to consider everything, including my body frame and skin elasticity. I needed some of the swelling to go down before starting college, so I calculated the schedule really tightly and set the date.
On the day of surgery, I was surprisingly calm, but wow... for the 3 to 4 days after surgery, it was truly hell. The compression bra was insanely suffocating, and I could not move my arms properly, so I had a major reality check, thinking, “What kind of luxury was I trying to enjoy that I put myself through all this?”
But after holding out for exactly 2 weeks, the world changed. As the swelling gradually went down, the shape started settling, and around one month in, it really felt like it naturally fit my body? It was not excessive and had exactly the vibe I wanted, so every time I look in the mirror, I cannot stop smiling lol
The best part is that I have zero stress now when getting dressed. Before, I worried about the position of pads and even considered angles when taking photos, but now the fit looks good no matter what I throw on, so even after going to college, I definitely do not feel intimidated and my confidence is overflowing.
It really feels like I solved a long-standing piece of homework, so I feel so relieved, and since I thought about it enough before going for it, I have not even 1% regret. If anyone is thinking about it, I feel like doing it even a day sooner is worth it!
