My original nose wasn’t extremely severe, but the nasal tip was blunt and the alar wings were slightly spread out, so from the side my nose looked long While looking up reviews, I saw a lot of reviews from people with nose types similar to mine, and for my nose, structural support was needed, so many cases were done with autologous costal cartilage. Especially if you want to correct a bulbous nose and a long nose together, they said a stable material is needed, so I naturally started looking into autologous costal cartilage! I went to consultations at several places, and I had surgery with Dr. Choo Sung-cheol because his explanations were kind and the atmosphere felt the most comfortable. The surgery focused on bulbous nose + long nose correction using autologous costal cartilage, and I also had nasal tip cartilage suturing, slight columella elevation, and hump reduction. For about 1-2 days after surgery, the autologous costal cartilage harvest site throbbed a bit, but with painkillers it was more manageable than I expected. When the splint came off after a week, I could gradually see the nose line, so I felt relieved, and as the swelling went down it became more and more natural lol Now the swelling is almost gone, the bulbous look has been cleaned up a lot, and the hump is gone too, so the line looks much cleaner! Since it’s autologous costal cartilage, my own cartilage was used, so there’s almost no rejection reaction, and the support is good, so it seems like the nasal tip shape will be maintained for a long time. It was also good for naturally enhancing the nose height and line lol My nose also looks less long than before, so I’m most satisfied with that! Before surgery I was scared and worried a lot, but after actually doing it, the pain was better than expected and I’m pretty satisfied with the result lol People worried about a bulbous nose or long nose probably don’t need to think of autologous costal cartilage as only something scary!
