Cheekbone Surgery Reviews

Square jaw is seriously the best

After living with the same face for over 30 years, I suddenly started noticing my square jaw. I thought, let’s try it before I get any older!! So I looked into various options and had a consultation at Yungwakui Jeongseok.

What I liked was that the consultation fee and CT scan were free, so I could get a consultation without feeling burdened. During the consultation, after looking at my face shape, they explained that instead of shaving too much, they would just refine the angular parts. I said, “I want it to be definite when I have the surgery! Please cut off more.” Director Oh Jeong-seok looked surprised and said one thing: “No... it will look grotesque...” After hearing that, I booked the surgery and came back! lolololol

On the day of surgery, it was under general anesthesia, so honestly I don’t remember the surgical process. Whenever I’ve had general anesthesia, I’ve always suffered as if I had a terrible hangover, so I told the director separately, but I was surprised that I felt fine after surgery. After it was over, my jaw felt a bit stiff and there was quite a lot of swelling. For the first 1-2 weeks, because of the swelling, my face even felt like it looked rounder, and eating was a little uncomfortable too. Still, as time passed, it gradually got better.

Now a lot of the swelling has gone down! Except for my cheeks being slightly puffy!! And the feeling of the angles being clearly visible like before has decreased a lot, so my side profile feels a bit softer..?

Also, even now when I eat, food gets stuck really easily between my gums and cheek flesh. Chewing~ taking it out~ my mealtime has doubled.. :( After eating, I almost always have to rinse with water or brush my teeth, so that is still a bit uncomfortable. They said this will also get better with time, so I’m watching it for now. If I chew a lot of food, my jaw muscles still feel stiff! I still can’t eat something like dried seasoned squid strips.

To my eyes, there is definitely a noticeable change, but it doesn’t feel like such a huge change that people around me would recognize it! Is it because I only did one procedure..? I’m still recovering, so I’ll have to keep watching, but for now this is how it feels. One-month (4-week) impressions, done!
