I finally had the cheekbone surgery I had been thinking so hard about Until now, every time I looked in the mirror or took photos, stress would quietly build up because of my cheekbones Still, surgery felt scary, and I wondered if there might be side effects, so I kept avoiding it Instead, I tried to cover them as much as possible with makeup or side hair, spent a lot of money on meridian massages, and worked hard with a gua sha too, but as expected, cheekbones are bone, so there was a limit
So I just decided to close my eyes and go for it, thinking that rather than living my whole life with lower confidence and stress like this, I should just do it. I got permission from my mom, who would go with me as my guardian, and immediately went around to hospitals for consultations
I had consultations at about 5 places, and I only visited one place per day, then came home and organized my thoughts. After thinking it over, I chose The Standard of Contour, the last place I went to The reason is pretty simple. Honestly, the consultations were mostly similar. But the reason I chose this place was that, as you can tell from the clinic name, they specialize in facial contouring, and Dr. Oh Jungseok answered everything honestly and plainly without embellishment. He didn’t push sales at all and consulted precisely on only the parts I wanted. The price was exactly the same as the event price posted too!
I’m actually a scaredy-cat and a bit dramatic who’s even afraid of injections, so I was pretty nervous on the day of surgery. It was my first surgery in my life, so my heart was pounding. But once I went into the operating room, I don’t remember because of the anesthesia I don’t even know when I was put under, without feeling afraid. I just woke up dazed after the surgery and from the time I went into the recovery room, I was only groggy
It didn’t hurt either!!! Instead, I was so cold because of the anesthesia that I was trembling, and that was the hardest part! The surgical area was more like a slight soreness rather than pain? It doesn’t hurt! On the first day, I was about 20% swollen, and as I’d seen in other reviews, I swelled a lot on days 3-4, and after that the swelling slowly went down! Honestly, this swelling makes you anxious and gloomy, but the answer is to trust the doctor who performed the surgery and wait slowly until the swelling goes down.. Still, I can feel that my cheekbones have become smaller. Because I can feel that the bone has been reduced under the swelling, I’m imagining happy scenarios while thinking about a few months later..
During recovery, I ate and slept pretty well, and I went back to work from day 5 after surgery! I was worried because I work in the service industry and have a job with a lot of activity, but as long as I wore a mask, there weren’t any major issues. At home too, nobody knows except my mom! Right now, because of the swelling, it’s just like, “Your face is swollen, did you gain weight?” That level? The wounds at the surgical sites are gradually disappearing too as I apply ointment!
There is still swelling left, but I have no regrets at all I just think it would have been even better if I had done it as early as possible I’m looking forward to my face shape as the swelling goes down more and everything settles!!!
