I had revision rhinoplasty using autologous costal cartilage at a plastic surgery clinic. Since it was a revision surgery and autologous costal cartilage had to be used, I had no choice but to be careful when choosing a clinic. I chose this clinic because people around me said the director had 30 years of experience in rhinoplasty alone and there were so many highly positive reviews about him. Of course, when I had the consultation myself, I also felt I could trust him.
On the day of surgery, the director, the consultant, and the nurses were all so kind and calm with me. It was a situation where I could have become sensitive before surgery, but instead I felt at ease, which left a strong impression on me.
For about 2 weeks after surgery, recovery was a little difficult, but the result was that good, so now I’m really satisfied. People around me also say it turned out really well, and I especially love that I’ve gained confidence in my side profile!! My swelling wasn’t extremely severe, so except for days 3–4, I think it went down relatively quickly compared with before. As for pain, the area where the autologous costal cartilage was taken felt uncomfortable when I moved, but after about a week it gradually got better. Overall, I like the shape of my nose, and I’m very satisfied because my recovery has gone smoothly without any problems.
