My nose was originally a bit crooked and on the short side, so every time I looked in the mirror it was stressful, and because I also had fairly severe septal deviation, I was always short of breath in daily life~ So after mainly consulting with ENT specialists, I decided to go ahead because Dr. Geunseok had a style of not over-recommending and saying only the needed parts should be done~ Using autologous costal cartilage, I corrected my short and crooked nose and also fixed the septum. Right after surgery, my nose felt completely blocked, and having nasal packing felt so suffocating that I briefly wondered if I should have just not done it, with that little reality-check feeling~ After 1 and 2 weeks passed, it improved somewhat, but occasionally my nasal tip still feels hard or prickly, so when I’m alone and anxious I contact the director and ask, and I’m relieved that he replies well~ It still doesn’t yet feel 100% fully open, maybe because of scar tissue inside the nostrils, so I think postoperative care still needs to be done consistently~ Still, the shape turned out sharp and stylish exactly as the doctor designed, and I’ve heard quite a bit that my nose looks beautiful from people around me~ I had worried that reimbursement for functional rhinoplasty would be the most troublesome part, but this hospital has an in-house insurance billing team, and they handled everything and helped me, so it was genuinely convenient~ As a result, insurance reimbursement was done well and the financial burden was reduced a lot~ Swelling is not completely gone yet, so I still have to keep watching the progress, but both function and appearance seem to be fairly in place, so I’m satisfied for now^^
