A review of the nose surgery I’d wanted to get ever since I was young, finally done in my mid-to-late 20s,, hehe Busan rhinoplasty! I’m currently on day 20. I’ll share my features in case anyone is similar to me: - Low nasal bridge, wide nostrils/alar base and large nostril openings, soft nose, thin skin, drooping nasal tip, short chin For reference, I’m 170 cm and 70 kg, and I had the surgery without dieting.
🔹 Reason for Surgery My nose had seriously been a complex since I was little. I hated my nose almost since elementary school, to the point where my mom said she would definitely “fix” my nose for me someday I’ve never seen anyone around me with a nose lower than mine in my life,, hehe My older brother asked if I maybe didn’t have nasal bones, and even my grandfather, who absolutely adores me, said getting nose surgery was a good choice~ Bittersweet~ When I succeeded in dieting around last year, my nostrils/alar width looked like it had shrunk a little, but it was still much wider than other people’s. Honestly, I’m fairly satisfied with my appearance overall, but my nose was the one exact complex, so I thought a lot about whether I should just not do it. There are so many cases where people discourage nose surgery. Even so, I went ahead because: 1. My mother fully covered the cost Honestly, if someone says they’ll pay for it, there’s even less reason not to do it. 2. The timing was right before employment I’m graduating soon and not employed yet, so if I missed this timing, I felt like it would be hard to take even a week off later, even if I wanted to. 3. My Photoshop obsession was at an unhealthy level I was desperate to make my nose smaller by adjusting the nose size, nostrils/alar width, and narrowing it in an app. 4. The limits of contour shading If the problem were just the size of the nasal tip/alar area, it might have been okay, but because my nostrils/alar base were wide sideways, shading didn’t really help much.
🔹 Clinic Selection and Consultation Review At first, I thought about going all the way to Seoul because this nose would be for life, but since Busan, where I live, is also a fairly big city, I decided to look in Busan. I downloaded a community, cafes, and plastic surgery apps, looked around at what clinics there were, and as soon as I had my first consultation, I booked a surgery date Honestly, I thought that no matter how my nose turned out, it would be better than now. But something felt off, so I gathered points in the community and read honest reviews, and it seemed like I shouldn’t go there. I urgently canceled it, and my mom said she knew a place that an acquaintance said was good, so for my second consultation I went to ㅇㅇㅇㅋ among the plastic surgery clinics in Seomyeon! This place is famous for natural-looking results. I made an appointment in advance through KakaoTalk, waited a bit after arriving, and then had the consultation with the director right away. In the waiting hall, they have a self-made plastic surgery review magazine and files, with real reviews in them. I really liked that I didn’t even have to ask to see them. First, the director asked what I wanted to improve, so I said my complex was that my nostrils/alar base were wide and my nasal bridge was low. I didn’t bring photos. He examined my nose very carefully. He kept taking notes, then looking again while taking notes, and said that because my nasal tip was drooping, it was true that my alar base looked wider, but the alar base itself was also wide, so an incision would be needed. He said silicone is usually inserted by a few millimeters, and for my nose he expected around 4 mm. Since my chin is on the short side, if my bridge suddenly became high, my nose could look long, so he suggested setting the starting point a bit lower, around between the eyes. So the estimate was to use septal cartilage and ear cartilage to lift the nasal tip, silicone for the bridge, and incisional alar reduction for the nostrils/alar base! He told me to discuss any smaller questions with the consultant, so I consulted with her right away. She explained everything once more, and I was able to ask questions more comfortably. The best part was that there was zero pressure!! She said it wouldn’t be too late even if I went home, thought about it more, and decided later, so I didn’t have to decide right away. And A/S is free for 3 years.. They’ll do it even if you simply don’t like the result.. The consultation fee was also free!!! After surgery, they gave me a really full kit with cleansing balm, cleansing wipes, gauze, pumpkin juice, sheet masks, cotton swabs, and more. The gauze was already prepared with tape so I could stick it directly on my nose, and they gave me a lot. I had prepared supplies in advance after reading the community, but in the end, I think the only thing I actually bought and used with my own money was a humidifier. So I was going to go home first, but I actually trusted them more and felt drawn to the place, so I went back upstairs and booked the surgery date right away. (Everyone, please never get plastic surgery like I did. Make sure to visit multiple places and compare carefully, and don’t book surgery right away at the first place you consult with.. Leave lots of comments, gather points, and open up clinic reviews too. That’s why I canceled the first clinic.)

🔹 Surgery and Treatment Review My surgery was the last time slot of the day, and my mom came with me as my guardian! Even though it was my first surgery, rather than being nervous, I was hungry and just wanted to finish quickly so I could eat abalone porridge. The injection in my nose stung, but it was absolutely not unbearable, and the surgery took about 2 and a half hours. They woke me up in the middle, and I could hear the director humming along with the whirring sound while operating.. But he’s delicate.. I saw a review saying the director seemed like someone who genuinely loves surgery.. He really was born to be a plastic surgeon… By the time the surgery was almost done, he was practically chatting with me while working, and when I said I was hungry, he said if hunger was the issue, that meant I was very okay, so I lay down for just a few minutes after surgery and went home Originally they tell you to eat porridge and take medicine before leaving, but I just received them and came home! That’s how fine I was, probably because they took such good care of me,, By the time I got home after surgery, since I took the medicine too late, I did have a little pain, but it was really not unbearable. I’m someone who exaggerates pain, but it was just a bit bothersome, so I took the medicine and fell asleep early. The next day I went to the clinic, had the cotton removed from inside my nose, and ate sushi right away. Oh, and in the evening I ate gwamegi too I was really fine, right? Around day 3, the swelling was truly the worst, and aside from a little discharge immediately after surgery, I didn’t really have much nosebleeding. After that, I visited every few days for disinfection and ointment application, to have the splint adjusted again, and so on, and I asked all the questions I was curious about then. They answered everything kindly with smiles!! From around day 5, I slowly started wanting to sleep comfortably, and the inside of the splint was itchy, so I ended up just waiting for day 7,,
🔹 Satisfaction After Surgery From around day 8, I already looked fairly natural. I was so excited that every few days I sent photos and videos to my friends through DMs, and everyone praised it so much, saying it looked natural, asking which clinic it was and how much it cost, and saying they wanted plastic surgery too. Even now the swelling is still going down, but compared with the beginning, the numb/tingly feeling in my nose has faded a lot, and most of all, I love that I don’t have to Photoshop my nose anymore Everyone says it suits my face so well, and that if I had done less or more it could have looked awkward, but this is exactly right.
