I had surgery because my square jaw bothered me so much. I was drawn to the fact that the surgery is done from behind the ear and under sedation anesthesia, so I had a consultation in advance via KakaoTalk, then had an in-person consultation and surgery on the same day. The director seems like the type to accommodate the patient’s needs as much as possible. However, the photo I brought was a very natural-looking one, so the director suggested cutting just a little more, and looking back now, I do regret that I should have had more shaved off. He also recommended muscle resection, so I had muscle resection as well, and my face definitely became a bit slimmer from the front. This is just my personal opinion, but if I had only had square jaw surgery, I don’t think there would have been much frontal effect. The bruising lasted about 2 weeks, and the major swelling lasted about a month. Since I live outside Seoul, I couldn’t go for any post-op care even once, so I managed it by applying warm compresses with hot packs every day. I’m really satisfied after the surgery, but if there’s one thing that bothers me, it’s that before surgery, my face never swelled up, but after surgery, I started having morning swelling, and there’s a big difference in swelling depending on whether I apply warm compresses or not? Other than that, I don’t think there’s anything. I’m satisfied.
