Quite a long time ago, I went here for revision rhinoplasty, and the result was tragic. At the time, my vacation was so short that I did my online research, went for a consultation only at this hospital because it looked the best, and booked the surgery. That is my lifelong regret.
They said they could remove the nasal filler directly during surgery without dissolving it first (probably by scraping it out). Inside my nose, only ear cartilage remained (the silicone had already been removed during my first surgery), and they suggested using septal cartilage, so we proceeded that way.
After sedation anesthesia started, I woke up from anesthesia at the point when they were scraping out the filler. I could feel everything being scraped out. My head felt foggy, but the pain was so extreme that I honestly thought dying would be hundreds of times better. Probably because my nose was open. I said it hurt, but I guess they thought I was still under anesthesia. They did nothing at first, and as the pain kept getting worse until I was almost convulsing, they said, “Uh, uh, please don’t talk,” then gave me more medication and put me back to sleep. I still remember this entire process.
But I woke up from anesthesia one more time during the surgery. I had previously had breast surgery under sedation anesthesia too (I hate general anesthesia so much that I only go to places where sedation is possible), and I’ve had several surgeries before, but waking up from anesthesia twice was almost unprecedented lol. They gave me more medication again and put me back to sleep. I felt all the pain. Since my nose was even open, when I breathed, the area above my nose? felt cool;
Still, I didn’t make an issue of it. I just hoped my nose would turn out well. In the end, after 1 year, the silicone had meaningfully shifted and became shaped like /, and the nasal tip height became so low it looked like I hadn’t even had surgery. Back then, no one could tell I had surgery.
(This is after I’ve now had my third surgery, but when I went for a consultation for my third revision rhinoplasty, the doctor took one look and immediately said the biggest problem with the shape was that the silicone was positioned too diagonally, like /.)
The doctor was kind, the consultation manager was truly among the worst ever, and the place was packed with foreigners. Seriously..
