Pros: 1. This was the biggest reason I chose the clinic, and the surgical methods the director uses are on the trendy side. For epicanthoplasty too, they call it diagonal epicanthoplasty, and instead of the conventional method that makes the inner corners of the eyes rounded, they seem to operate in a way that preserves the shape of the inner corner while preventing scar tissue from forming. When I compared it with acquaintances who had double eyelid surgery with a standard epicanthoplasty method at other clinics, their surgeries also turned out well, but if you look closely, all of their inner corners are rounded, and some had fine scar tissue along the aegyo-sal line. The stitch placement itself was different: my epicanthoplasty stitches extended in the 10:10 direction (diagonally upward), overlapping with the double eyelid line, while my acquaintances' stitches went downward in the 8:20 direction, overlapping with the aegyo-sal line. For lateral and lower canthoplasty too, when I checked the surgical method on the website, they do not use a method that tears the mucous membrane up and down and causes a C-shaped side effect; they use a method with only a straight minimal incision at the outer corner of the eye.
2. The director clearly prefers natural adhesion. Whenever I had consultations at other clinics, I was always recommended the incisional method and even ptosis correction, but only here they said there was no need to do an incision and that natural adhesion was possible too. Unless it is a revision surgery or eyes where incision is truly the only answer, it seems they generally recommend natural adhesion. One of the consultants said she had surgery with the director using the incisional method, and seeing how extremely natural it looked, I thought the director seemed good at incision too. I chose natural adhesion, and the result was a success. It came out naturally and well, but somehow I feel like it may loosen or lower later and I may need revision with incision, so I do wonder what it would have been like if I had done incision from the beginning at that time.
3. Including acquaintances who had surgery one after another at this clinic, the surgeries turned out very well, and I do not think there is any doubt about the doctor's skill itself.
Cons: 1. You should not expect detailed and kind explanations from the director. He does not talk much and is cynical. That does not mean he is completely careless... It feels more confident than kind, and the consultation style is very simple: he explains only exactly what needs to be explained, takes questions, and leaves. It felt like he was confident and did not try hard to self-promote.
2. There is only one doctor, but the clinic is quite large and there are three consultants. There is a consultant who feels like a salesperson and inspires zero trust, and there is also a consultant with a good image who speaks logically and well... that kind of thing. The good facilities could be an advantage, but for a private clinic, it felt too much like a large hospital to me, so I was not sure..
3. The consultation order is consultant -> director -> consultant, but you spend more time talking with the consultant than with the director, and there was also pressure to pay a deposit, so this is where I felt strong resistance. I said there are three consultants, and while there is a calm, trustworthy, decent consultant, if you get unlucky, it is really like the doctor has not even looked at my eyes yet, but the consultant recommends unnecessary surgeries without expertise, and when discussing cost, talks like a salesperson bargaining, kind of...... I thought most people who only came for a consultation would cut ties here.
4. Ah, this is truly the biggest drawback: when getting stitches removed, and when going in for postoperative follow-up.. you cannot see the director. You get a swelling laser treatment, and at the consultant level it just ends with, hmm, it turned out well~ It made me wonder why they told me to come in if this was all.
Conclusion: The pros and cons are both too clear. It was fortunate that this was eye surgery; if it were a surgery with greater risks than eyes, I think it would be right not to do it at this kind of clinic. You can consider that there is no aftercare or progress check, and they say AS is for 1 year, but hmm, would they really do it easily..?
My advice to people doing online research is that if you are only thinking of double eyelid surgery, I think it is okay to go to another skilled clinic. But if you are considering epicanthoplasty too, I recommend this place, and if you want to know whether your eyes are only suitable for the incisional method, I recommend getting a consultation.
