The director is apparently a clinical professor at Asan Medical Center, so he has also written textbooks and is very professional. The hospital overall has a rough, no-frills feel, but because of that, it makes the director’s expertise stand out even more. In the waiting room, there are press coverage materials, and also a booklet called “Textbook” that describes gynecomastia surgery in detail. He seems to say that hospitals that make patients wear compression garments or perform surgery in a way that requires stitch removal are probably not run by board-certified plastic surgeons, and he is full of pride and confidence in the latest techniques. Looking only at skill, I genuinely expected he might be the best among all the hospitals I had consulted at so far. However, because it is a small-scale clinic, surgery is done in a procedure room rather than an operating room, and they said there is no CCTV because of that. Also, the decisive reason I did not choose this clinic was that they were very passive about after-service or insurance matters. When I asked about revision surgery if the surgery went wrong, he emphasized pride in his skill, but did not actually answer what would happen if such a case occurred. Regarding insurance, the answers also felt ambiguous, as if he was drawing a moderate line.. No matter how outstanding someone’s skill is, people are not perfect, and there is always a one-in-a-million chance, so personally it was difficult for me to trust them with my body.
