Middle-aged nose revision surgery -> It’s been a little over 2 weeks since I had the silicone removed.

Over 30 years ago, I didn’t know anything and had my nose bridge built up with silicone. I lived fairly satisfied with it, but recently a groove-like indentation appeared on the bridge of my nose, then it kept getting bigger, and the nostril asymmetry also became severe. I suddenly got scared, so I started looking into hospitals for revision surgery. Since I live overseas and didn’t have time to visit clinics in person, I joined a cosmetic surgery community and did a lot of online research. I looked into about 3 places and made appointments through KakaoTalk, but one place said they don’t do middle-aged rhinoplasty... I had my first consultation with Director Kim Hyun-joo at a plastic surgery clinic, and I booked my nose revision surgery right away after the consultation. Her answers to the parts I was worried about were clear, and she seemed confident, so I felt I could trust her. The procedure I had was silicone removal, with donated dermis for the nasal bridge and autologous costal cartilage and fascia for the nasal tip. Since I’m older, I didn’t have much desire for height, and I didn’t want my facial impression to change drastically, so I decided on that. The nose surgery was done under general anesthesia. I tend to have severe dizziness after anesthesia, but after waking up, I wasn’t dizzy at all, which was really nice. I was worried because many people say harvesting autologous costal cartilage hurts, but I wore an abdominal binder for one day and then took it off, and except when sneezing hard, it didn’t hurt that much. It may differ from person to person, but it wasn’t very difficult, and I slept well too. Sleeping with a travel neck pillow was comfortable. It’s now been a little over 2 weeks since the splint was removed, and I’m very satisfied with the shape too. My old nose was high from between the eyebrows, so it only looked long. My nostrils are now almost perfectly symmetrical too, so I can walk around in front of others with my face lifted. The swelling hasn’t fully gone down yet, so the nostril-wing area is still a bit plump, but I’m completely satisfied.
