Before surgery, I always felt that my square jaw looked angular. It wasn’t a major discomfort, but whenever I took photos, my jawline was the first thing I noticed. When choosing photos, I naturally ended up looking at my face shape first, and it became almost a habit to slightly edit the jaw area every time. As that kept building up, I think it quietly remained as a source of stress. So on June 14 of last year, I had square jaw surgery with Dr. Oh Jung-seok at a facial contouring clinic~ After surgery, the burden I felt about my face shape definitely decreased. Even after taking photos, I no longer became conscious of my jawline the way I used to, and the biggest change I felt was that I stopped obsessing over editing. When tying my hair up, I no longer worry that my jaw will look prominent, so choosing styles has become much easier. These days, I also often hear that my overall impression has become softer. The recovery process gradually became more stable over time. Now, most of the gum swelling has gone down, and I don’t have any major discomfort in daily life. However, after surgery, as the space inside my mouth became a little smaller, I did feel that food got stuck around my gums more easily than before when eating. Still, it was manageable as long as I paid a little more attention when brushing my teeth. My daily life is also going well, not very different from before surgery. People around me often say the change looks so natural that they had no idea I had surgery. Unless I brought it up first, almost no one noticed, and most people said they thought I had lost weight. My satisfaction after surgery is truly 100%. Even now, about 7 months later, I’m just as satisfied with the result, and overall I feel that I made a good choice. If you’re quietly feeling stressed because of a square jaw, I think this is a surgery worth seriously considering at least once.
