Maybe because I work in broadcasting, I’m in an environment where I can’t help but become sensitive about my appearance, so I ended up getting surgery. It’s been a little over two months now, so I’m writing a review. If you see my before photos, you’ll know, but the area between my eyebrows was slightly sunken, and I had quite a noticeable hump. From the front, my nose looked long and pressed down, and from the side, it drooped downward, like someone was pulling it down... Whenever I took photos, I always looked tired, and I often heard that I looked older than my actual age. There were also many times I was rejected because they said my image didn’t fit because of this...
I didn’t have time to look into lots of clinics, so I asked an acquaintance in the same industry whose nose turned out well. I mainly looked into the clinics they mentioned, and one of them felt right, so I paid the reservation deposit on the day of the consultation. What I emphasized during the consultation was exactly a masculine straight nose, yeah. I asked them to preserve that feeling well, and the director said he had done many noses like this and that mine was a nose that would turn out well lol He said he would shave down the hump, avoid making it noticeably too high, and focus on refining the drooping nasal tip so that my impression would look sharper.
As for the surgery, I went to sleep and woke up and it was over. When I had the splint on afterward, honestly, I was half excited and half worried, but on the day the splint was removed, I touched my nasal bridge and was kind of moved lol It dropped smoothly in a straight line without any bumpy areas, and it felt a bit like it wasn’t my nose, a little unfamiliar, and just this one change completely changed my whole vibe.
After recovery, I met people, and I got tons of compliments saying I came back looking 10 years younger. It also looks good on camera, so that felt nice. The appearance-related obsession you guys talk about had been getting bigger and bigger while I worked in broadcasting. I don’t want to push anyone into surgery, but after getting surgery, that obsession completely disappeared lol Of course, things like healthy self-esteem and loving yourself are good words. They’re good, but if you work in a field like mine where your face is constantly exposed and evaluated, I do think there’s a bit of a limit to that. Honestly, I also wish I had gotten the surgery when I was younger, before doing this job. Still, I guess deciding even now is something. I really think for men, the nose accounts for half of the impression. For people like me who worry a lot about their impression because of their nose, I recommend at least seriously getting a consultation once. I hope everyone gets the surgery they want safely and successfully.
