***Surgery: rhinoplasty (silicone, autologous costal cartilage)***Time: had surgery in early July 2025 After the surgery, it got extremely hot, so I struggled... In-person consultations > went to 4 places I don’t think that’s too few or too many, and it’s fine to go to more than that But honestly, if you go to fewer than that, I think you’re looking into it way too casually...!!! It’s important to do a lot of online research too, but sometimes it feels different when you actually go in for consultations Especially because other people may say something is good, but I might feel it isn’t good That’s why people tell you to experience it yourself, yeah
***Recovery care 1. Walking As I wrote above, it got hot, so I couldn’t do much At most, walking around the neighborhood for 30 minutes at night? I’m a night owl, so I often walked at dawn, and my routine was going to the ice cream discount store every day and even eating ice cream
2. Lymphatic massage I heard this from a friend, who said massaging helps, so I did it.. You know those gua sha things? (I recommend buying the octopus-leg-shaped one) I used that on my scalp area, beside my cheekbones, and under my jaw I did it often for about 1-2 weeks, then got too lazy and couldn’t keep doing it haha
3. Swelling tea I bought it at Olive Young, but it didn’t taste that good, and I don’t usually drink much water, so I didn’t really drink it
4. Swelling laser I got it at the clinic. As for the effect.. I’m not sure Honestly, I didn’t have much swelling from the beginning, so even if they offered more, I probably wouldn’t have gone because it was a hassle
6. Swelling medication They say pharmacies sell it too, but I got some from a friend and took it Maybe for about 2-3 days? I couldn’t really tell if it worked, so I stopped taking it... It just felt like it made me poop better....
**Surgery satisfaction 1-2 weeks. I think this is the ultimate period for swelling-related anxiety During this time, everyone looks like their surgery failed. Somehow the nasal bridge looks fatter, the bulbous nose doesn’t seem well corrected.. The nose also feels like it might be too high... It’s really emotionally stressful I even used autologous costal cartilage, but I was upset because my nasal tip seemed slightly upturned
3 weeks to 1 month. But really, this too shall pass became true.... The swelling definitely went down a lot compared with the beginning I reached a point where I convinced myself that the nasal tip hadn’t gone up strangely, it was just swelling But friends who saw my nose said they could only see my nose lolololol It hadn’t even been a few months yet, so at that point, well.... I thought I had to take that into account I think real satisfaction started around the two-month mark? Before that, I couldn’t really wear makeup well because I was worried just in case, and it felt like there was still residual swelling I thought touching it for no reason would only be a loss, so I was careful, but from the second month on, those worries almost disappeared I could do all my makeup, and it felt like it was gradually getting closer to the look I wanted.. But even when I did my base skincare and makeup thoroughly, the nose area felt like it lifted a bit??? That was still the case around the third month After three months passed, I managed exfoliation and it got better. Thankfully, I didn’t have blackheads!
***To update with my latest status I’m doing well without major discomfort, and sometimes when I get completely drunk, I become conscious of my nose, but it doesn’t hurt Still, they say you should wait at least a year for the nose, so I’m just watching it for now When someone asks, I’m the type to say you really need to think carefully before getting nose surgery.. If it’s truly a complex, it’s okay to do it, but I also think you need to find a proper place to recover stably Everyone going around to rhinoplasty consultations, fighting!!!
