Nose Surgery Reviews

6 weeks after rhinoplasty, I can’t smile and the bruising still hasn’t gone away

I’m 6 weeks after revision rhinoplasty (open approach, silicone, nasal tip cartilage, cartilage tying, alar reduction), and the bruising on the nasal bridge still hasn’t gone away, and I can’t smile while showing my upper teeth. That is the most I can move my mouth and try to smile. What on earth is the problem... Does everyone end up like that if they get cartilage tying, alar reduction, or nasal tip cartilage lifting? If anyone knows, please leave a comment.... And people say bruising is about constitution and that some people’s bruises don’t go away..... I can’t agree with that because, 1. This time, while harvesting ear cartilage, the bruising on my ear was severe. It turned jet-black, and I even had bruising on my neck. But that completely disappeared in 3 weeks. I didn’t even apply bruise ointment. 2. When I had my first silicone rhinoplasty (although it was closed approach), I had no bruising at all. I also had no problem smiling immediately after surgery. 3. Even though I’ve been applying bruise ointment for 6 weeks, this is what it looks like after it has supposedly gotten much better.... This condition has continued for 2 weeks. The bigger problem is that makeup doesn’t cover it. My nose also sometimes turns red, but sometimes it looks okay. Why is that? My previous operated nose never did that at all... So I’m even more anxious and feel like I’m going crazy. For reference, I don’t drink or smoke at all, so I don’t think it’s related to that. I already hate the nose itself so much I could die, and even my department head, who usually doesn’t notice things, looked at me and asked if I had something implanted in my nose^^^ With my previous nose, really no one knew I had surgery. I’ve now gone to a few other hospitals to look into revision surgery, and everyone says, who on earth put cartilage in like that, and they start by sighing. If I’d known this would happen, I should have just done L-shaped silicone through a closed approach... It had been fine for 15 years, and they said before surgery that it had shifted slightly to the left, so that’s why I had revision surgery. I threw away money, I’ve taken down all the mirrors at home, and if it at least looked okay to other people, I would just live with it, but everyone who sees me says my previous nose suited my face and was pretty, so why did I get surgery, and they feel sorry for me. First of all, it looks too obvious...(That nose was done with L-shaped silicone and it wasn’t even a successful result, but people thought it was my natural nose.) They said if you only put silicone in, it descends downward, so cartilage absolutely has to be placed in the nasal tip, and I trusted the doctor and had cartilage inserted. Right before surgery, I asked if I really couldn’t skip cartilage tying, and they said if we do that there will be no effect, that it will definitely become pretty so trust them and do it, so I trusted the doctor and had cartilage tying done.... Even after 6 weeks it looks like that, so I really wanted to die. The hospital only repeats that I should wait every time I go, and when I see the doctor saying that to his eyes it’s a pretty nose and what on earth is the problem, making me out to be the strange one, I even think maybe they’ll believe me only if I set myself on fire in front of the hospital... Please don’t get nose surgery. I’m begging you, please don’t. Buy what you want with that money. For over a month I’ve developed social avoidance and can’t go outside except for days I absolutely have to go to work, I barely fall asleep by taking sleep aids every day, and I’m barely living, buried in anger and regret. Hoping that tomorrow, please, I won’t open my eyes.
