My philtrum was long compared to my facial proportions, so I was always worried about having an overall aged-looking face I thought that even shortening just my philtrum a little would make me look much younger, so I started looking into philtrum-nose surgery. What I learned during the consultation was that philtrum-nose surgery, which adjusts the proportions of the nose and philtrum together rather than simply shortening only the philtrum, looks much more natural. Dr. Hwang Seung-hwan at the plastic surgery clinic looked at my facial proportions and designed the surgery while considering my philtrum length, nasal tip position, and even the shape of my mouth. I especially liked that the incision area was inside the nose, so there would be almost no externally visible scar. After actually having the surgery, since the incision site was inside the nose, I had no concerns about scarring at all, and my philtrum length was adjusted naturally, so my facial proportions looked much better. It wasn't just that my philtrum became shorter; my midface looks more three-dimensional overall, and my side profile now has a subtle C-curve line without looking excessive, so I'm very satisfied. My previously flat-looking impression feels much more defined now.
