The nasal septum is always something everyone here worries about, and it’s my concern too I’m not at the stage of going around for consultations yet, so I’ll ask here. Has anyone ever been told during a consultation that if a septal strut or septal extension was done in the primary surgery at a plastic surgery clinic, not an ENT clinic, and too much septal cartilage was harvested, there may be a risk of collapse or saddle nose with complete removal? I heard doctors learn in medical school that at least 1 cm of the nasal septum should be left.. Are there still plastic surgeons these days who don’t follow that? Has anyone who had septal cartilage taken at a plastic surgery clinic been told during a complete-removal consultation not to remove the septal cartilage? Not because you personally wanted to leave it for shape or anything like that. ㅅㅅㅇ usually tells people to leave it, so please let me know excluding ㅅㅅㅇ~
