I hadn't unlocked my savings account yet, so I couldn't pay half the cost, and I said I hoped the surgery date could be later, but their face stiffened and honestly I was scared. They kept telling me to do it early and that putting down a deposit would be good, but their expression was scary, so I was afraid to say even one word...
