How to tell whether the columella was touched during the first surgery

The clinic where I had my first surgery said they didn’t touch my septum, but the clinics I’ve consulted so far said that although it’s likely not the case, if the columella feels hard and it isn’t because the silicone was extended too far or because it’s L-shaped silicone, then there may be a columellar strut, so they’d have to open it up to know. Has anyone been told by their previous clinic that the columella wasn’t touched, but after opening it, found out that it had been?
