The clinic I consulted with said they use a mix of septal cartilage and donated costal cartilage, but they said donated costal cartilage has a high chance of being absorbed later. They said they don’t use ear cartilage at all because there’s a high possibility it can warp. But starting with autologous costal cartilage from the beginning is financially burdensome. Still, would it be better to use firm autologous costal cartilage from the start?
