I went to a non-surgical orthodontic dentist and for 3 years had screws put in, a palate appliance attached, a face orthodontic device? rubber bands... I went through all that hardship, but my jaw didn't go in, and when I got a consultation to have double-jaw surgery, they said that with the bones still unchanged, they had only made the bite look aligned on the outside. They said they made my friend's upper teeth protrude forward and the lower teeth protrude inward, so the bite was matched by basically cramming everything in. So if they want to do double-jaw surgery, they have to spend money again and first get orthodontic treatment to return to the pre-orthodontic state, then have double-jaw surgery. Ha... If it was going to be like this, I wouldn't have gotten orthodontic treatment.
