Has anyone removed only the ear cartilage while leaving the septal support strut in place?

I went to my first consultation today. 10 years ago, I had hump nose osteotomy and used septal cartilage and ear cartilage for my nasal tip, but the nasal tip has become pointy and the cartilage shows through, so I'm thinking about removal. Today I went to my first consultation at one of the top three places, and they said they can remove only the ear cartilage through a closed approach, and that the pointiness and show-through should improve. But they said the hardness will stay the same, so if I dislike that, they recommend an open approach to remove everything including the septal support strut and do cartilage repositioning. If possible, I want to remove only the ear cartilage through a closed approach. Has anyone here done it this way? I'll wait for reviews on whether you're satisfiedㅠㅠ
