Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

Functional and cosmetic rhinoplasty, week 2

Before-before-after-after-after As you can tell from the pre-op photos, my nasal tip was pressed down and my columella drooped a lot, so when I smiled, my arrow-shaped nose looked worse, and I really hated how it looked. It wasn’t something I was that self-conscious about when I was younger, but as my nasolabial folds got deeper, the drooping columella started to stand out more.

Another issue was a deviated septum. At night when I slept, both sides of my nose would get blocked alternately, and it was hard to breathe. My ENT clinic, which I’d been going to for a very long time, had recommended surgery for that.

Still, I do have some nasal bridge, so honestly I once put aside the thought of surgery, thinking, “At this age, how much prettier would I really get from rhinoplasty?” Then starting last year, whenever I took photos, I began hating how my arrow-shaped nose looked again. My original plan was around this time last year. My work is slow around this time of year, so I went around for consultations thinking I would get on the operating table right away if I found a clinic I liked, and just when I had narrowed it down to a few places and was about to decide, I couldn’t go through with it for various reasons.

Among those reasons were my husband and son being extremely against it... and drinking. Alcohol is my only pleasure, and because I depend on alcohol to fall asleep, the thought of quitting drinking was horrifying. Even after breast surgery, I drank after 3 days, and after hemorrhoid surgery, I drank like crazy after a week. But for the nose, they say to hold off for at least a month ㅜㅜ Honestly, hearing that made me wonder if I really had to do this. Another year passed like that, and now masks have been lifted too. And my obsession started again.

It was probably around March. While having an evening drink, I informed my husband. I told him I’m the kind of person who does something once I decide to, no matter who tries to stop me, so just coolly give me permission for my nose. (Thinking about it, it’s my nose, so why do I even need permission...) Then he snapped and told me to do whatever I wanted. My son became the witness, and I started going around for consultations again. Including last year, I ended up having consultations at 14 places in total.

On the morning of surgery, I sent him off to work like usual and headed to the hospital... I didn’t tell him I was having surgery. I knew he’d obviously worry all day and that I wouldn’t hear anything nice... I also hate hearing nagging on the day of surgery, and anyway I was paying for it myself and he wasn’t going to contribute. Actually, among all the surgeries I’ve had, the only one I told him about beforehand was my hemorrhoid surgery lol

That day, I had to deal with lasers shooting out of my husband’s eyes... But men are really oblivious. He didn’t notice the lifting at all lol

And now it’s almost been 2 weeks. If you’ve seen my previous post, you’ll know I worried a lot in the beginning because of swelling and the upturned nose, but time really is the medicine. Whenever I felt anxious and posted, everyone here told me it was okay and to wait, and thanks to that I held up well. Thank you for not just passing by and for leaving a word each time♡

I still have some bruising and swelling, but my face has pretty much come back now haha. My husband, who said it was awful to look at, has been nagging less too, and I think the nasal tip I was worried about has started to come down.

I had rhinitis, deviated septum correction, hump shaving, 1 mm on the nasal bridge, 4 mm on the nasal tip, used septal cartilage and ear cartilage, and had 4 Mint threads placed on each side. Thanks for reading this long post, and will you look at the photos too?
