It’s been 1 month since I had my septal extension and silicone removed. And for the purpose of reinforcing the support strut, they left a small piece of cartilage between the alar cartilages. Before removal, I thought I only had a septal support strut and silicone, but when they removed it, it turned out to be a septal extension. It’s been over 13 years since my first surgery, and I had no foreign-body sensation. The reason I had it removed this time was anxiety caused by the silicone. Because of that, I ended up having it removed without even looking into septal extension removal. If I had known in advance, I wouldn’t have removed it because I’d be afraid it would collapse.
