The silicone was removed at the hospital where I had the surgery, and I wanted complete removal, but they said if everything was removed my nose would become monster-like, so they left the autologous costal cartilage in place and removed only the 4 mm silicone. I didn't particularly have inflammation, but because of the silicone, I was worried about contracture coming later, and the mucous membrane inside my nose kept bothering me and getting irritated, and when I lay down I felt pressure as if the silicone was pressing on me, so I had it removed The autologous costal cartilage is still there as is, but the chance of contracture or inflammation later is low, right?
