Why does cartilage show through????

I’m considering removing the ear cartilage at the tip of my nose, but for the bridge it seems like most people use silicone and for the tip they mostly do autologous cartilage surgery. Also, I haven’t really seen many cases of inflammation in the septum, but I often see ear cartilage inflammation in severe cases, and in milder cases there are side effects like cartilage showing through. If cartilage showing through happens after being fine for about 2 or 3 years, why does it happen? Is cartilage exposure something that inevitably happens or is it a common side effectㅜㅜ And what’s the external difference between full removal and leaving the support structure, or is it only to prevent contracture…
