In a full nose removal, if all the nasal tip cartilage is taken out and it isn’t tied separately or anything, how do the alar cartilages hold up? As I understand it, when you have the first surgery, they cut the tissue between the two alar cartilages in your original nose that supports them, kind of like the fixation role of the alar cartilages, and then operate. After rhinoplasty, if a full removal takes out even the support structure that played that role, how do the alar cartilages maintain their shape after removal? I feel like I’ve heard before that scar tissue supports it, but scar tissue doesn’t form immediately after surgery. After removal without repositioning …
