I had a consultation about total removal of silicone, septal cartilage, donated rib cartilage, and ear cartilage ㅠㅠ They said there’s a 50% chance septal reinforcement would be needed, and 1.65 million won would be added to the removal cost. Since the entire 2-hour surgery is done under sedation anesthesia, I guess they just do it if it becomes necessary during surgery. The splint is for 3 days, and they don’t use nasal packing. They said using nasal packing can expose you to infection or irritate the mucous membrane, so it’s worse, but this seems to vary so much by hospital. ㅅㅇ says there are cases where they keep it for a week too. After going to the consultation, I feel even more frustrated. They said the existing ear cartilage can be placed between the alar cartilages, but I was so flustered during the consultation that I didn’t ask why they would put it there…

I developed inflammation 2 weeks after nose surgery, so I took antibiotics, and at week 4 I had the silicone removed. But there is still an inflammatory reaction, so I’m looking into complete removal ㅠㅠ The clinic says we should keep trying
