It’s been a really long time since I came in, looked around, and left a post.. The day after tomorrow will be 3 months since surgery.. I had surgery through an intraoral incision at a hospital in Gangnam.. Reading posts here, I think my recovery is faster than others.. Some people say they still seem to have swelling even after more than a year.. For me, I think 99% of the swelling is gone.. That nightmare situation during the first week, when my face looked like Shrek’s face smashed one more time, feels like ages ago.. haha And.. I often read stories about side effects from intraoral incisions, like cheek sagging or depression.. In my case, I don’t have cheek sagging.. (For the first month, I thought the swelling was cheek sagging and was extremely depressed..) The left and right sides also seem nicely symmetrical.. The candy-cheek bulges beside my mouth and the sagging flesh under my jaw gradually tightened up because I gently massaged them every day, swept them upward every time I washed my face, steadily applied firming cream, and wore a compression band often. Now when I look in the mirror, I don’t feel like the flesh is sagging or anything.. If anything, I hear a lot that I look younger than before.. But since it was major work involving the bone, it would be a lie to say I have no anxiety at all.. Very occasionally, if there’s a cracking sound when I chew or I feel like the bone is shifting when I lower my head forward, I get scared out of my wits.. I get needlessly anxious that maybe the bone hasn’t fused and become on edge.. But seeing that there’s no sound when I press on it, it seems the bones have all fused.. I called the hospital last week, and they said that at around 3 months the bones are all fused.. and I don’t need to worry too much.. I also see claims that if you do an intraoral incision, your face suddenly collapses and so on.. But I don’t think that’s the case.. I have terrible sleeping habits, so even when I sleep freely(?) with my face pressed all over and wake up, I’ve never once felt like the bones moved or became twisted.. They say swelling keeps going down for a year, so if I get slimmer than now, that’s great for me. Yesterday I went out wearing a hat, and a friend said I somehow looked slimmer and asked if I had lost weight. It felt good.. I’m getting married in November, so I hope it keeps going down until then.. Did this end up sounding like I’m rubbing salt in the wound for people struggling after cheekbone surgery? But for those who have suffered emotionally for over ten years because of protruding cheekbones, I’d rather say have the surgery.. If you pointlessly go into places like “anti-plastic surgery” and hesitate over whether to do it or not, you’ll never get it done even in your lifetime.. You’ll only suffer emotionally for no reason. Are you saying I can talk easily because my result was good? Yes, that’s right.. maybe so.. But isn’t the choice your own responsibility, and the result of that choice also something you have to bear yourself? However, it’s only natural that the choice should be made carefully for your own future.. I think my fast recovery and good surgical result are because of my healthy constitution.. So if you usually think your bones are weak, or your wounds don’t heal well, or you were born with a weak constitution, please consider surgery carefully.. If you feel your skin elasticity is weak and you sag easily, I think a scalp incision may be better.. If you eat everything well.. don’t often get sick.. and wounds heal quickly.. then an intraoral incision is okay too.. It doesn’t show on the outside.. and recovery is fast too.. My intraoral incision wound.. honestly, no exaggeration, completely healed and closed in ten days.. Each of the various surgical methods probably has its own pros and cons, so please research carefully, choose the surgical method that suits you, and I hope everyone recovers quickly.. and becomes prettier.. *Oh right.. As soon as I posted, messages asking for hospital information came pouring in. I try to reply as much as I can if possible.. But when there are really too many or when I’m busy, it’s hard. Please understand if you don’t receive a reply to your message. And just because the hospital worked well for me doesn’t mean everyone will have good results, so please get consultations at several places.. search online too.. and then decide..
