It’s been 4 months since I had the silicone and autologous costal cartilage completely removed. I’ll just simply summarize how I felt after the removal by month.
1. Month 1 My nose was still swollen, but I was hoping that if only the swelling spreading out to the sides went down, it would be just right, so mentally I wasn’t struggling that much.
2. Month 2 There wasn’t much difference from month 1, and the minor swelling went down very slightly. This is when I think my mental state started to waver little by little. Still, since it was only month 2, I had hope that I should wait a bit longer.
3. Month 3 (personally, the worst phase) Because there was still hardly any difference in the swelling going down, this was the period when the urge for plastic surgery or procedures kept surging up like crazy. Personally, month 3 was so hard.
4. Month 4 Strangely, I suddenly started to see that the swelling in my nose had gone down a lot. There is still some minor swelling, but the parts of my nose that used to look bulbous now seem to have reached a point where that is not very noticeable. Instead, it feels like my nose repeatedly swells and then settles down a bit.
In conclusion, I’ve been thinking that it is somewhat bearable. At month 3, I really felt like, wow, whether it’s a procedure or whatever, I need to do something, but now I’m at a stage where, sure, it would be nice if I did something, but I don’t really feel the need to go through all that trouble again.
This might sound a bit confusing, but strangely, the shape of my nose is almost going back to how it used to feel. So these days, when I look in the mirror, I think, right, this is what my face felt like when I hadn’t done anything, and that’s why I wanted to get nose surgeryㅋㅋㅋ I really feel thatㅋ Because of that, external/appearance-related greed comes along with it tooㅋㅋ But it is absolutely not the feeling of desperately wanting revision surgery. Through several surgeries already, I came to know that the complexes I have about my nose cannot be improved, and that even if I did revision surgery again, it would not change despite the physical hardship, money, and time. So I absolutely don’t think about revision surgery.
Instead, I do have a little urge for procedures. But even that doesn’t feel that urgent. Based on how month 4 feels now, I’m thinking that if the swelling goes down more from here, I really might not care much about my nose, so for now I’m going to watch and wait.
These days, I just think, maybe this is heaven’s will telling me to get my old nose back, even if it had to happen this way. It feels like I went a very long way around and came back. Still, someday, if I get greedy and feel like I want to get even a little filler, I think I may consider it.
Oh, and when you keep getting surgery, you start to notice things like that, right? Whether that person had their nose done or not. But now, maybe because I had mine removed, noses that had implants removed stand out to me moreㅋ
