The day of surgery. Maybe because of the anesthesia, it didn't hurt that much. My lips were a bit swollen.. Blood kept coming out of my nose But the nurse said: "The blood has to come out so you won't bruise as much~ It's better, so don't worry." It wasn't a nonstop nosebleed. My nose felt itchy, then a little blood would drip... and I'd just wipe it with tissue. The most painful area was the ear.. then the jaw.. then the nose. A little throbbing pain.. When I got home, my mother was shocked. (I did it in secret -_-) I gave her a quick grin, then put on the cold compress for the eyes and stacked three pillows, wore a mask, and slept. (So my dad wouldn't be shocked..-_-;;) Day 1 after surgery. When I woke up in the morning, blood from my nose had flowed down the right side of my face.. It had spread everywhere and dried there..; Did I sleep leaning to the right -_-; My lips were slightly swollen, like a fish lip. Not that bad Just swollen like someone sulking with puffed-out lips. A little nosebleed again today. The ear hurt a bit. I forced myself to go to the hospital even though I really didn't want to...ㅠㅠ It was so far.. and I was embarrassed to be seen, so I thought about taking a taxi.. no, it's so expensive.. but I was embarrassed and in pain.. should I take one? After agonizing over it, I ended up taking the bus and then transferring to a taxi -_-; The nose disinfection was so stinging.. and the injection was so painful..ㅠ.ㅠ I kept dawdling because I didn't want to go, then got scolded for coming late.. they said I had bled a lot and asked why I didn't come sooner I should've wiped the blood before going... The trip to the hospital was so exhausting and hard. Going alone made it even worse...ㅠㅠ (I got abandoned by my mother because I had surgery in secret ㅜㅜ) After napping and waking up, there was a little blood pooling along the double-eyelid line. Hmm... I felt the swelling in the evening. My glabella was swollen, so my eyes looked huge. Thinking "Lucky-☆" I went to sleep. Day 2 after surgery. Surprisingly... I wasn't as swollen as other people There was a little blood-colored stain along the double-eyelid line and a yellow bruise under the eyes. The area under the eyes still felt a little swollen. I had to go to the hospital, but when I said to my mother, "....go with me please" She just said, "Go by yourself." and ignored me..// I went alone..-.- Today I only used public transportation. I felt the pressure of taxi fares. With my hat pulled down low and only looking down, I couldn't see other people looking at me, so that made it a little better... I stood by the door with my MP3 earphones in and tried to avoid people's gazes as much as possible. So tired. My day was just the hospital and home. At the hospital they disinfected things, checked how things were progressing, and removed the huge cotton on the ear and put on new tape. For the jaw, they checked the stitches inside the mouth and disinfected it. The pain got a little less. Maybe because the cheeks were swollen.. the nose looked low, but still, since I had a bit of a protruding mouth before, I could feel that my mouth looked more tucked in. Before sleeping, I put on the cold compress and slept. Day 3 after surgery. I ate ramen the night before and went to sleep, so my eyes were swollen... disaster. My mouth looked much more tucked in, and my nose felt higher. My eyes didn't look as big as they had before.. it just felt like they had returned to how they used to be.. Because of the nose protector, I couldn't really tell if my glabella was swollen.. There were yellow bruises around the eyes and tiny red bruises along the double-eyelid line. The front-jaw surgery also gave an unpleasant optical illusion that made my face look longer..ㅠㅠ From this point on, I got really used to just taking public transportation. I took the subway and the bus, walked around with my head up~~ I even made phone calls~ I had become extremely bold. I kept wearing a mask..-_-; From this point on, even after going to the hospital I wasn't really tired.ㅋ Day 4 after surgery The suffering started to gradually set in. Because of my greasy hair and the smell, I was rejected by my older brother. Exiled to my room. ㅠㅠ At the hospital they said there wasn't much swelling and the recovery was going well. I was told to gargle often. They said no water could get in my ear, so I had to be careful not to wash my hair. My face was so oily... I wiped it with oil blotting paper. I've never had this much oil in my life..ㅠㅠ Since yesterday, I haven't had pain anywhere, not in the ear, jaw, or nose. (No pain even before that, really..) Day 5 after surgery The swelling went down.. and because the double eyelids were swollen, it almost became a single eyelid, but then the line came back out.. The yellow bruise between the eyebrows is still there. Since it was Sunday, I didn't go to the hospital. I cleaned my room at home.. I'd been living like a total shut-in.. I sweated while cleaning, and the tape on my nose and jaw got itchy, which was annoying. The oiliness was putting huge pressure on me. My scalp oil got even worse. I started to smell myself. No pain at all, and I wanted to peel everything off right away because of the itch. My nerves had gotten bigger, so now I was even touching my nose a little and looking at the stitches on my jaw, having fun -_-; Day 6 after surgery. I'm going to the hospital in a bit to get the tape removed. I want to run there right now. I also want to wash my hair. Should I wash my hair before going, or just go as is? I'm worried about being a nuisance because of the smell.. It would be a disaster if water got into my ear.. My face is itchy. The dead skin is no joke. Just now I felt the pressure of the oil blotting paper changing again. I can keep feeling the oil on my face -_-krooo.. The bruising around the double-eyelid area has almost disappeared, and only a little remains on the left. The yellow bruises around the eyes have faded enough that they won't show if I put on makeup. Before, if I moved my nose a little it hurt, but now it's fine. At first my nostrils were uneven.......... The right one spread out to the side, but after touching it around a bit, its shape became like the other nostril...(what is this -_-;) My eye size is back to how it used to be... lucky my ass. ㅠㅠ +say * When you have surgery, don't work out or sweat.. It's summer again, so strong sebum production is expected, so oil blotting paper is essential. If possible, stay cool at home. * It's better to choose a hospital as close to home as possible. (When I had my jaw surgery, I was staying at a caregiver's house, so they drove me there and back themselves.. I didn't feel any inconvenience during the post-op care period..=ㅁ=) * Honestly, I only did cold compresses for 3 days.. and even then, it was just twice before sleeping, and on day 3 I only put it on for a moment because I remembered it. It seems like it's not that big a deal if you don't do it. * You absolutely have to go to the hospital during the treatment period..! (At first I tried not to go, but an older sister I know said I had to, so I went... I think it was the right decision..-.-) * I just wore a baseball cap around. It didn't bother the ear bandage.. and I think it was better than a bucket hat. If you wear a bucket hat in the heat, it's super oppressive. It would probably draw even more attention. * Ah.. I think dieting before surgery helped with the swelling. Maybe because I'd been swollen once already, but.. When I had my jaw surgery 5 months ago, it was no joke, so I thought I was the kind of person who swells easily... Back then I was literally as huge as old-school Lee Young-ja, with my face as big as a snowman and my lips so swollen they looked like Im Kkeok-jeong's lips had been hit 100 times -_-; Now that I think about it, when I had jaw surgery I had more weight and more swelling, but this time I dieted, reduced the swelling a bit, and lost some weight too, so I don't think I swelled much. Just a guess, though..-.-.... There are so many pretty older sisters in Apgujeong, and I was wandering around looking miserable, so it felt gloomy....ㅠㅠ I just tell myself it's my fate. Now I walk around wearing a mask and a hat, looking at the pretty older sisters' noses and thinking, you got it done too... then I grin. Mine is coming soon too...-_-! Yours is coming soon too-_-!! Fighting to everyone who is about to have surgery--~
