Complete Removal vs Leaving a Little Ear Cartilage

I’m about to have surgery for complete removal of ear cartilage and septal extension. My original nose is not on the low side, so I was thinking of complete removal, but the hospital said they could either do complete removal or cut down the ear cartilage a little, make it smaller, and use it again. I’m really torn. Originally I wanted complete removal, but the doctor who will perform the surgery said that if they trim the ear cartilage and leave it in place, the height or shape could become a bit prettier. If anyone has had removal while leaving ear cartilage in, could you please tell me whether it was okay? Or should I still go with complete removal as I first thought? I’m so conflicted …
