I saw a blog post saying that after total nose implant removal, it’s difficult to restore the original nose with only alar cartilage repositioning. It doesn’t seem like the writer is a doctor, but the content sounds pretty plausible. It says that even if things look okay for about 2 weeks to 1 month after removal, over 1 year and 6 months the nasal bridge continues to get lower and the nasal tip droops. My interpretation is that after removal, the cartilages are weakened after dissection, so alar cartilage repositioning alone cannot provide support. My columella was originally droopy, and before surgery I had a slight arrow-nose feel, so hearing that the nasal tip droops is quite shocking…
