This was my very first surgery, after hesitating for a really long time. Yesterday, that is, Friday, July 21st. ^^ I only refined the slightly protruding bridge of my nose, and used septal cartilage for the tip. Since I get an arrow-shaped nose when I smile, I also had surgery to weaken the depressor septi nasi muscle that pulls the tip downward, through the inside of the nose.. (I heard some hospitals make an incision inside the mouth instead.) As I mentioned in my previous consultation review, I visited quite a few hospitals, and many of them said that because the bridge protruded a little, I should refine it and even do osteotomy, so I was prepared for that too. But it seemed like it would take a long time to see the results, and what the doctor said about not getting much benefit compared with how much trouble it would be made a lot of sense, so I had the operation at a place that suggested a relatively simple(?) method. I had sedation anesthesia, went into the operating room at 2:00, and came out a little after 4:00. I think I only really came to around 3:30, after wandering in a dazed fourth-dimensional world.. I got 30 minutes of cold compresses in the recovery room, and on top of that, I even ate cake.. I was so pleased by how kind the nurse was, even giving three slices not just to me but to my friends too! ^^ After pulling out the cotton packing in my nose today that had made me feel stuffed up all night, I really feel like I can live again. Trying to breathe through my mouth dried out the inside of my throat so much that I think I barely slept at all.. ㅠ.ㅠ I still have to watch the final shape carefully over time, but for now I’m satisfied. The sagging tip was my biggest complaint, and that part seems to have improved the most, and I also like the shape of the tip. I don’t know how it will change as time passes. Will it end up looking very different from the initial shape as time goes by... ㅡㅡ;; Ah, and perhaps because they worked hard to stop the bleeding, none of the bruising I was worried about showed up. The swelling between my eyebrows is a bit worse than yesterday, though.. ^^;; (If you follow what the hospital tells you and do a thorough job stopping the bleeding even though it’s annoying, it seems like it will help. Especially for those who want to see the progress quickly.. ^^) I’m posting photos in gratitude because the members of this community helped me get from choosing a hospital to going through surgery without major trouble. But since these are such early photos, I’ll take them down soon. ^^;;
