Minimally invasive cheekbone + jaw, 1 year and 1 month

I had cheekbone + jaw surgery through an intraoral incision in June last year (2006). For a whole year after the surgery... it was really no kind of life at all. Because of the aftereffects of the surgery. If anyone says they’re getting surgery, I’d go there with a lunchbox and stop them. It’s a major surgery that goes in and out of the boundary between life and death, and even if the surgery is successful, you still have to suffer from complications that may show up later. I experienced many of the problems that other people who had surgery experienced too, and I have one question. The needle marks near my eye disappeared on the left side, but on the right side, even now, a year later, it’s sunken in like a lump of charcoal. Social relationships... are really hard. Because I can’t even smile properly, the doctor said it would disappear with time, but the right side still hasn’t gone away. Right now I’m overseas, so even for this reason, I think I may have to go back to Korea. On top of that, I’m trying to have the fixed metal removed. When I went to the hospital last time, the doctor said to remove it, and that the surgery cost would be free... If anyone has had surgery to remove the fixed metal, please send me a message. Is the surgery simple, and after how many days does the swelling go down and everyday life become possible?.. Of course, the hospital says it’s a simple surgery that takes less than 10 minutes, and that the swelling goes down quickly, too. How can I trust what they say? These are people who say that after a full facial reconstruction, the swelling will mostly go down in just five days.... what do you mean, go down.. It’s frustrating... I need to leave Korea now.
