It’s been a while since I came here. First, no inquiries to the hospital please (honestly, I’m too lazy.) To be exact, the reason for the surgery was that my face looked a bit big..ㅠㅠ More than that, I did it because of asymmetry. From the front, my face shape isn’t that strange, but from the right side my jaw is definitely more angular, and it was especially obvious in photos, which made me a bit upset. And then by the time the surgery came, I ended up doing the cheekbones too, which was a stupid thing to do.
At the hospital, everyone says you become human two weeks after surgery, but that’s complete nonsense. Even though I was praised for not swelling much after surgery, at two weeks I only became somewhat human, and it seems like it takes about a month before you really start looking human. And only after about three months do you really become human. It takes six months before you look like someone who never had jaw surgery. And until the two-year mark, your facial shape keeps changing steadily, so you get a surprise one year after surgery and then get a slight shock again two years later. Right now, my face shape seems to be completely settled. The cheekbones were done with an incision in front of the ear, and now there’s no scar at all. (I was worried about scars because the front-corner-eye incision scar was left more than in other people, but it really does disappear after two years)
And what I regretted was that after cheekbone surgery, for about a year, even if I was only a little tired, my face would feel stiff and very tired. So I thought I had done the cheekbones for nothing, but that’s not the case now. Still, if I overdo it a lot, there’s a slight feeling of stiffness and soreness (that’s not abnormal). And sometimes the sensation in my cheeks gets a little dull. I know someone else who had facial contouring and said it happens to them sometimes too, and they said it’s normal. It’s not happening in some abnormal way; it just happens a little now and then. It doesn’t interfere with daily life at all.
Oh, and I don’t have cheek sagging;; I wasn’t the kind of person who had very prominent cheekbones to begin with, and I only removed the side cheekbones, so from the front only the face line changed, not the entire face from cheekbone surgery. (Maybe I just wasted money;; ㅠㅠ I don’t know, but anyway I don’t think cheek sagging will ever come for me.)
In conclusion, cheekbone surgery does take a long time. My cheekbones weren’t severe at all, so I did think a lot that I shouldn’t have done it... But in the end, it doesn’t interfere with daily life at all, I’ve now forgotten I even had surgery, and it is true that my impression became a little softer. The facial proportions improved too, and if I had only done the jaw it might have looked stranger, or the face shape might have looked odd.
Also, it’s not quite the same as a hugely successful double eyelid surgery, but the effect is almost comparable. Rather than making you prettier, it improves your image, I’d say? And although it’s not perfectly symmetrical (well, even ordinary people aren’t, and I had the surgery after the doctor told me before surgery that perfect symmetry isn’t possible, so I’m satisfied), my image improved a lot. Ah, and my pretty lips started standing out too (how should I put it? After the surgery, I was told my lips were pretty. Maybe people look at them more?) so I’m really glad I did it!! Or so I’d say?
But these damned cheeks!!! don’t go away even as I get older. I also had that surgery where they shave the bone very thinly at the jaw, so I might have ended up looking gaunt, but since I don’t look gaunt at all and there’s a bit of a cute side to it, I don’t want to remove them completely either. But when I take photos, they still look red and swollen, which is upsetting;; ㅋㅋ Especially when I smile, it’s awful; ㅠㅠ I’m starting to think it’s an innate limit, and I was even wondering if I should just make dimples, which is how I came here. Lee Ha-nee also has cheeks that look red and swollen, but because she has pretty dimples, she looks fine, right? My cheeks are exactly like Lee Ha-nee’s right now. So I’m aiming for Lee Ha-nee-style dimples, but for people who had dimple surgery, is this really a surgery you’d strongly recommend against ㅠㅠㅠ Please give me some information;
