4-Month Review After Scalp-Incision Cheekbone Surgery (Photos Removed)

I had surgery around mid-July, so it has now been exactly about 4 months. I only had cheekbone surgery. *** Hair loss condition It’s very good overall. I only lost a little hair near the incision area, and there’s no so-called highway(?) or anything like that. I’d say it’s more like a small local road. ^^ I think from about a month and a half to two months after surgery, I started wearing my hair all back and tied in one ponytail. *** Sensation in the scalp/cheekbones I think sensation in my scalp and cheekbones has almost all returned now. Of course, it doesn’t feel perfectly natural like before surgery, but when I touch or scratch the areas, I can feel the sensation itself. Still, when I touch my scalp or cheekbone area, there is still a bit of a dull, tender ache left. At first, I remember it being incredibly frustrating because even when I touched my scalp, I couldn’t feel anything at all, as if someone else’s flesh had been attached there. *** Scalp scar Until about two months after surgery, the surgical scar on the crown area, especially where the hair part separates, was a bit red, to the point that it could be seen if someone looked closely from the front. That bothered me a little, but now the wound color has all changed to a flesh tone, so even if you look closely, it’s not very noticeable anymore. There is still some scarring right behind the ears. This is just my own thought, but I think the surgical scar on the crown area became red because that part was exposed to sunlight. You know how they say you should avoid sunlight for a certain period after removing a mole or getting a wound on your face, because sunlight can leave a scar. Later on, I thought it might be okay to wear a hat for about one or two months after surgery. *** Things I did to recover faster Walking and running 1-2 hours a day, stretching, swimming, 20-minute half-body baths, and intentionally not paying attention to my cheekbones.. I thought I’d get more stressed if I focused too much on how my cheekbones were changing, so I deliberately didn’t look in the mirror much. *** Reactions from people around me People don’t really know that I had surgery, but they definitely seemed to feel that something about me had changed. “You got prettier,” “your impression looks softer,” “you look more refined,” “you look younger,” “something seems different”.. Those were the main reactions I heard, and although I was happy to hear that I got prettier, I was also a little scared they might realize I had surgery. *** Other inconveniences / side effects I live without feeling any major discomfort. I haven’t felt any side effects at all so far either. My mouth opens just as wide as before surgery. (Right now, I can fit four upright fingers in.) Just one thing: when I fully tense my scalp muscles, there is a stiff, pulling sensation along the incision area, and if I had to pick something, that would be the inconvenience. Overall, I am very, very satisfied. It’s not because other people say I got prettier, but because the satisfaction I feel myself is really great. In the past, when I was walking down the street and saw my faint reflection in a glass door or window, I would look at my face with my cheekbones sticking out, feel extremely depressed, and when there was no one around, I would quickly cover my cheekbones with my hands and imagine what it would be like if I didn’t have cheekbones.. I’m so happy now because that doesn’t happen anymore. For those considering surgery, those who are about to have surgery, and those who have already had surgery.. Whatever decision you make (or have made), I think if you trust your decision and spend each day positively, you’ll find yourself where you wanted to be before you know it.
