Rewriting my experience with nose surgery. Removal review too...

I posted a really long write-up before, but this time I’m writing a more detailed account, including the removal surgery review.^^ A lot of people tend to think of nose surgery as just one of the surgeries that make you prettier, but nose surgery is absolutely not a minor procedure. If you’re thinking about getting nose surgery, I hope you’ll look into what kind of surgery it really is before deciding. I had the removal surgery exactly 4 months after my nose surgery. Four months earlier, I had only the tip done with the septum and ear cartilage. The reasons I ended up getting the removal surgery were: The tip showing whiteness through the skin, and feeling like the skin might tear when smiling Because of the septum surgery, the columella and nasal base were fixed when I smiled, which made me look like a witch when I smiled The nose tip feeling hard (it was awkward when I touched it, and it was stressful in everyday situations like blowing my nose, washing my face, putting on lotion, or touching my nose) A slight obvious nose-surgery look Fear of future side effects Feeling guilty about having had cosmetic surgery and not being able to be upfront about it in front of other people And so on. There were 정말 so many reasons. The part I hated most after the nose surgery was that the tip didn’t feel like my own and was hard. In words, it may seem like nothing special, but it really wasn’t like that. A hard feeling is genuinely very stressful. Of course I couldn’t do a pig nose, and after using ear cartilage I couldn’t lie on that side easily either. For a while I had to be careful with my ear, and if I even bumped it a little the pain was intense. People get cosmetic surgery a lot these days, but our biggest mistake is that we know too little about the surgeries we’re getting. Honestly, when we go in for consultations, do the doctors really explain the side effects or discomforts of nose surgery in detail? They usually only mention what material they’ll use and give simple explanations like whether it’s open or closed surgery, but if you ask about things like visible implant edges after surgery, side effects, whether revision surgery may be needed, or the discomforts that come after nose surgery (blowing your nose, washing your face, the nose turning red in winter, and so on), they seem reluctant and don’t answer well, right? I think deciding on nose surgery after only a few minutes of consultation and hearing the price is far too rash compared with everything that comes afterward. We don’t have two or three noses; we only have one nose to live with for the rest of our lives, and if side effects happen and it gets ruined, that’s the end of it. It’s hard to go back to the nose you had before, when it was fine. Doctors also have to make a living, so they talk only about the positive sides of nose surgery, but in reality nose surgery is never something that only has good points. That’s why it’s even more important for us to carefully read other people’s experiences and surgery reviews before getting cosmetic surgery, and gather as much information as possible. If you gather a lot of information, understand the side effects and the discomfort that comes with them, and still feel firm about getting nose surgery, and if you can honestly say in front of other people that you had cosmetic surgery, then go ahead with it. Before surgery, I was shy, and I mistakenly thought I could be calm if people noticed. To be honest, I had almost no information about nose surgery before I got it, and I had never even thought about the burden I would have to carry for the rest of my life after nose surgery. I think you need to know yourself well before getting nose surgery. Could I really be open about having had nose surgery? And could I endure people gossiping about me? Could I honestly tell a boyfriend, friends, or the person I might marry later that I had nose surgery? If you can confidently answer, “Yes, I can,” then there’s no problem. But if you don’t think you can, you may end up suffering from guilt and regret after surgery, like I did. I hope only people who can stay calm about nose surgery and take responsibility for everything that follows get it. If you are not strong against others’ gazes, the hurt you receive from that can be very large. Sometimes nose surgery goes well on the first try, but if you look at the many reviews out there, there are far more people who had revision surgery. The nose takes months for the swelling to go down, and its shape keeps changing, right? Just from that alone, you can see that after cosmetic surgery, the nose keeps changing endlessly. That’s why people end up getting revision surgery. Speaking as someone who has had nose surgery... for those who say, “I’ll only get nose surgery once!” honestly, I can’t promise whether that surgery will be your last or whether you’ll need surgery again. I hope you’ll consider that point as well. In any case, you’re putting an implant inside the nose, and even from gravity alone it can sag to some extent or adhere to the skin and become lower over time. Nose surgery is the procedure with the highest revision rate among cosmetic surgeries. So before getting nose surgery, don’t just brush off the idea of revision surgery; please think about it carefully. In nose surgery, revision surgery is something you really should not gloss over. We seem to be greatly influenced by celebrities we see through mass media. I also thought that if I got cosmetic surgery, I would become as pretty as them. But honestly, celebrities generally have surgery two or three times. Otherwise, how would a person’s face change so much after surgery that they look like someone else? There are really almost no cases where one surgery alone creates a huge success! One of the biggest misconceptions we have is that just one surgery can make you dramatically prettier, but that is absolutely not true. Those celebrities have had things done several times, and in real life it really shows. And we are not celebrities! There is no guarantee that we’ll turn out like that after surgery, and for them, looking beautiful is their job, so how much money and time would they invest? Their agencies would cover all the costs, and the plastic surgery clinic would take special care of them as VIP clients. They and we are clearly different. If you have the fantasy that one surgery will make everything amazing, I hope you wake up from that fantasy quickly. Honestly, you do become prettier than you are now, but that means a slight improvement within the shape of your own nose, not that your nose shape changes completely into Song Hye-kyo’s nose. Because of this misunderstanding, people get surgery once and aren’t satisfied, then get it again and again, and fall into cosmetic surgery addiction. Even if you get nose surgery, unless you swap noses with someone else, your own nose shape cannot be completely transformed. Please keep that in mind. Personally, what I felt most strongly after nose surgery was that even if you’re a little less attractive, an untouched natural face is so beautiful. After regretting my cosmetic surgery for the first time, I rode the subway, and I was so jealous of people who had natural noses even if they were a little less attractive. Then I saw someone whose cosmetic surgery was obvious, and because everyone’s eyes were drawn to that person, I thought, this isn’t right. If that person is satisfied and living well, it’s not my place to say anything, but at least for now it seems people still have some negative views about cosmetic surgery. I had only believed it because so many celebrities do it and people say cosmetic surgery is common, but that wasn’t the reality. In any case, if you’ve had cosmetic surgery, the label of having had cosmetic surgery follows you around, and if you were already pretty and then had surgery, you might hear people say, “She became pretty because she had cosmetic surgery.” That’s how big the burden is that you have to carry after cosmetic surgery. Before my surgery, I also read many reviews and just passed them by. I thought, those side effects or discomforts won’t happen to me. What use are those things anyway? If I become pretty, that’s all that matters. But after going through it, I painfully regretted how arrogant I had been and how I had not treated myself carefully! Many people may not agree with my post, but I’m someone who has actually experienced nose surgery, so I hope you won’t just pass this by and will take my advice to heart. You probably don’t want to think about side effects. You just want to become pretty and you hate your face, so you want cosmetic surgery, right? You probably want to block out both ears, ignore everyone else’s advice, and insist only on your own opinion and claims! I was like that too. But in the end, that brought nothing. I cut healthy flesh twice, stitched it up, and wasted all that precious time... You may not want to hear anything right now, but precisely at times like that, it’s better to open both ears and think about nose surgery with an open mind. There is absolutely nothing good about doing it that way. People get cosmetic surgery to become happier, so in order to do that, it’s better to hear more information and advice.^^ If you truly think you are unattractive and your will to get nose surgery is firm, that’s a personal matter and there’s nothing I can do about it. But what I really want to tell everyone is to get nose surgery only if you know what it is. Getting it without knowing anything is really dangerous, and the physical and emotional toll is severe. If you really think you’re ugly and you absolutely must have cosmetic surgery, then do it. If you read this and still don’t change your mind and still want to become prettier... then get cosmetic surgery. Just make sure you know what it is. Know what the texture of your nose feels like after surgery, what it’s like to live with a slightly hard nose, what it’s like when you blow your nose, what it feels like to touch it, what side effects there are, whether everyone succeeds after cosmetic surgery, how many people regret it, and so on. After looking into all that, if you still believe you can endure whatever people say about you after nose surgery and being told you had cosmetic surgery, then people like that will probably live a much more satisfying life than if they had not done it. I am not saying cosmetic surgery is absolutely bad, but cosmetic surgery done while knowing nothing is dangerous. If you get cosmetic surgery and live happily and with satisfaction, then cosmetic surgery is by no means bad. Rather, it saved that person. But not everyone succeeds, so please think carefully and make your judgment.^^ <Removal surgery review> I heard that removal surgery can even be done after 10 years, especially for things like silicone. They say Gore-Tex is difficult because it adheres to the skin, but silicone is easy to remove, and cartilage can also be safely removed as long as too much time hasn’t passed.^^ I had the removal done two days ago, and I didn’t swell much at all and it didn’t hurt much. The whole thing took about 30 minutes? The removal surgery was done in that time. There were no bruises and no swelling like there was for the first surgery, and the pain was less too. The only hard part was the fact that I had to go through that unpleasant surgery one more time. T.T Haha.. For those who have decided to get it removed, if you’re going to do it, do it soon... In my opinion, even doing it 6 months earlier would probably be fine. In fact, if the implant adheres to the skin, it becomes harder to remove, so it seems better to do it sooner. The surgery is less difficult than the first time and it ends faster too, so don’t worry.^^ As soon as the surgery was over, I touched the tip of my nose... and I was so happy. It was so soft. Just like my old nose. The part with the columella was also extremely hard, but now it’s soft again like before. I’ll post again once the swelling is completely gone, but so far I’m satisfied. ^^
