A little while ago, my rhinitis was severe and I couldn’t breathe, so I went to a university hospital. The doctor said the bone inside my nose is too deviated, so I need surgery. It’s a major surgery under general anesthesia where they remove the inner bone and straighten the outer bone. It’s a necessary surgery, and since there isn’t much time left before the semester starts, I scheduled the surgery for the day after tomorrow. The problem starts here. The doctor said that since it’s a major surgery where they have to open it up anyway, if I add just a little for the material cost (about 500,000 won?), they could put 4 mm of Gore-Tex between my brows, and shape the nasal ala with the bone removed during surgery, and it would look pretty. I think the bone they’ll remove is septal cartilage. They said that if I don’t get cosmetic surgery, it will be thrown away after the surgery, so if I later get cosmetic surgery, it would have to be done with ear cartilage. They said it would be good to do the cosmetic part together while I’m at it. My mom also says that since it’s a major surgery with an incision anyway, I should get the cosmetic part done... My friends recommend it too. Hearing so many things like this from people around me makes me feel slightly like I want to do it.. Actually, my nose shape isn’t pretty, but that doesn’t mean my nasal bridge is low. It’s just that the area between my brows isn’t very high, and the lower part of my nose droops slightly.
