I had double eyelid surgery in 2016, and because I had it done out of town, it was a burden to travel all the way back just to remove the stitches, so I had the stitches removed at Cheongdamjin, a plastic surgery clinic connected to Gwangju. I didn’t know at the time, but when I looked at my eyelids a week later, one stitch hadn’t been removed. I pulled it out by hand with tweezers, but there is still a black scar there. It’s not enough to bother me constantly, but when I look in the mirror without makeup, it’s sometimes annoying.
