I had a consultation about a depressed nose. Since my septum is short, costal cartilage was suggested, and because they specifically explained the size of my septum, I was able to understand why it was necessary. They explain things in an easy-to-understand way so that even people without much professional knowledge can understand. If costal cartilage is used, it seems they prefer donated costal cartilage over autologous costal cartilage when possible. It seems to be a method where they slightly overcorrect at first, then the nasal tip drops and becomes more natural. Of course, they said they will also use autologous costal cartilage if the patient wants.
